A Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt, Brent Primus made his Bellator debut in 2013 at just 2-0. He finished his Bellator run with a 10-3 (1 NC) record, which included a win over Michael Chandler via injury to capture the Bellator lightweight championship in 2017. Primus had a successful PFL debut in April, scoring a submission of Bruno Miranda.

 

After a successful run on the amateur circuit, with multiple championships, Solomon Renfro won eight of his first nine fights as a pro. Renfro competed in the 2023 PFL season, scoring a second-round finish of Jarrah Al-Silawi. Renfro originally missed the postseason but earned the call as an alternate to compete in the semifinals, dropping a decision to eventual champion Magomed Magomedkerimov. Renfro dropped a decision to Gadzhi Rabadanov in April.

 

Primus needs a win of any kind to make it into the postseason. Will it happen?

Round 1

 

Renfro with a left hand as the two trade to start things off. Primus even spinning in his attacks – a rare sight. Renfro lands a leg kick and a right hand that knocks Primus off balance. Renfro blitzing with a flurry. Renfro landing inside. Right hand by Primus, but Renfro answers with a combination. A couple of more one-two combinations from Renfro. Primus tries to flatten Renfro out as he looks for the choke. Renfro defending, and he’s able to recover, fighting off Primus’s hands while dealing with Primus’s body triangle. Primus keeping a hold of Renfro with this ground pressure. Renfro trying to land, but his shots aren’t doing much. Primus with a few left hands to the head.
