Since starting his professional MMA journey in 2011, Sergio Cossio has earned quite the reputation, entering tonight’s contest with 27 victories and one draw in his 37 pro fights thus far, including 20 wins via finish. Cossio, who has won regional lightweight gold in his native Mexico, has won nine straight – the second time in his career that he has done this. Cossio’s run has stretched onto the big stage thus far, submitting Jesse Roberts at Bellator 300 and scoring a decision over Anthony Romero in Salt Lake City in June.

 

Though Dedrek Sanders does not have the same amount of fight experience as Cossio, Sanders has shown he can be a finisher in his own right – with three knockouts and two submissions – thanks to his resilience and perseverance in and out of the cage. Competing in his hometown of Nashville tonight, Sanders has won five of six after a three-fight losing streak. His winning streak was snapped in his most recent outing, with Sanders dropping a decision to “Violent Bob Ross” Luis Pena in April.
