Prior to making his PFL Europe debut tonight, Kikadze Bondo has competed exclusively in China, and he comes into this bout with a 7-3-1 record. Bondo, who comes into tonight with four wins via finish, will be having his first MMA fight in three years. His most recent contest came in early 2020, getting stopped by Sen Yang. Bondo looks to stop a two-fight losing skid here.
A man who has competed across various MMA promotions, Dom Wooding had an excellent amateur career before turning pro in 2015. Currently at 9-5, with all of his wins coming via KO, Wodding won gold at both flyweight and bantamweight on the regional scene. Wooding’s most recent bout came in October 2022, dropping a decision to Michele Martignoni and seeing a three-fight win streak snapped.
Who will get back in the win column tonight in this bantamweight contest?
Round 1
Wooding with a couple of low kicks to begin this fight. Bondo lands one of his own and misses a strong right hand. Bondo with another low kick. Bondo misses a takedown. Wooding misses a right hand. Wooding with a left hand. Big head kick by Wooding! Bondo tries to close the distance and pushes Wodding to the PFL SmartCage. Wooding reverses the position and gets out of the body lock, avoiding a right hand in the process. Right hand by Wooding. Bondo locks him up again and gets the takedown near the fence. Bondo gets into side control. Bondo looking for an Americana from the scarfhold position – a pretty weird position for this kind of submission.
Wooding trying to get his arms and head free. Wodding is nearly out and tries to spin, but Bondo keeps his head down. Bondo lands a few headshots and tries to crank his neck. Bondo tries to get some sort of arm lock while mixing in some shots to the head of Wooding. Bondo rains down some punches on Wooding, but Wodding has a hand up in defense. Wooding is still trying to get his arm free. He can’t do so, however, and Bondo finishes the round on top.

Round 2
Straight left from Wooding backs up Bondo. Bodno comes back forward and looks for another takedown; he gets it with Wooding against the PFL SmartCage. Wodding trying to get his guard up as Bondo throws some left hands. Wooding improves his position and sits up against the fence. Bondo tries to get him back down and continues to press. He manages to flatten out Wooding and gets back into side control. The referee calls time after Bondo throws two elbows and Bondo loses a point and the position!
With the fight resumed, Bondo goes after the takedown again, and he gets it. Bondo throws a number of right hands in Wooding’s half-guard. Wooding struggles to improve his position, his legs trapped under Bondo. Bondo tries to lay in some strong ground-and-pound in the closing seconds of the round but can’t get the finish.
Round 3
Wooding tries to stay patient with his shots, expecting another takedown attempt. Even when it comes in though, Bondo locks him in a body lock and brings him right down onto his back. Bondo works the position on the ground before returning to the scarfhold. Bondo throws down some short right hands to the head as Wooding tries to defend his head with an arm. Bondo seems content to just do this all the way until the final bell, as Wooding struggles with his defense.

Halfway through the last round, Wooding gets out of it and runs back, with Bondo chasing after him. Wooding with a strong high kick. Bondo continues to go forward and catches Wooding, pressing him against the fence. Bondo tries to grab the leg and bring Wooding down, but Wooding stands his ground as the fight remains against the fence. Bondo gets the trip and scores the takedown yet again. Wooding grabs a hold of Bondo’s left leg as Bondo fires off more short-range punches to Wooding’s head. Wooding gets his guard up as Bondo continues to throw, with his punches getting some more strength behind them. Bondo stands up before the horn and avoids Wooding until then.
Even with the point deduction, a dominant showing from Kikadze Bondo.
