Murad Ramazanov has trained with some of the best fighters that Russia has to offer, including Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. Ramazanov sharpened his teeth across various Asian MMA promotions, with noteworthy bouts including a win over Myung Ho Bae and a No Contest against Roberto Soldic. Ramazanov scored a first-round submission of Laureano Staropoli in April.

 

Shamil Musaev is well-accomplished in his own right, having not lost a fight in MMA on either the amateur or pro circuit. Musaev won a silver medal at the 2019 U23 World Wrestling Championships, a bronze medal at the 2019 Russian National Championships, and a silver medal at the 2022 Russian National Championships. Musaev, who has 12 finishes to his name, scored a second-round knockout of former Bellator interim welterweight champion Logan Storley in April.

 

Somebody’s 0 has to go in this battle of unbeaten Russian MMA talent, and whoever comes out on top here is moving on to the welterweight portion of the postseason.

 

 

Round 1

 

Ramazanov with a low kick starts this off. Left hand from Ramazanov. Ramazanov shoots in, getting Musaev up against the fence as he works for a double-leg takedown. Ramazanov lands a couple of knees to the leg. Ramazanov trying to press. The two break off, but Ramazanov chases the takedown again a few seconds later. Musaev again negating the attack and pressing Ramazanov against the fence. The two return to the center and trade low kicks. Musaev misses a spinning back kick.

Low kicks from the two. Ramazanov shoots after the takedown again, but Musaev gets away. Ramazanov flashes the right hand. Ramazanov grabs at the leg and finally scores a takedown 30 seconds into the second round. Ramazanov looks to get at the back as Musaev gets back to his feet. Musaev blocks a trip attempt. Knee by Ramazanov in the clinch. Left hand from Musaev DROPS Ramazanov! Musaev follows with some ground-and-pound, and that’s all!
